Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Jammy Jellyfish has reached the Release Candidate stage. This signifies that the development of this upcoming version is nearly done, minus the most important bug fixes that need to be fixed before the actual release.

The release candidate version for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Jammy Jellyfish has many changes and bug fixes to the older beta version, including the security updates to the packages.

You can download the release candidate of this Ubuntu version on this link. The installation images allow you to either try out the new Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Jammy Jellyfish installation, or actually install it to your computer.

If you’re already using this version of Ubuntu while it was still in beta stage, you can either open the Software Updater to check for updates and install them if any, or open the terminal emulator and issue sudo apt update and sudo apt dist-upgrade. Make sure that you restart your computer after issuing these two commands.

Be aware that while the release candidate versions are mostly stable, there are several bugs that should be fixed before the release. We recommend the normal users to wait until the actual release of this version of Ubuntu, which should be out in April 21. However, if you’re adventurous and would like to report bugs you found in the release candidate, you can use this version.

To everyone else: Are you ready for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Jammy Jellyfish?
