Recently, Microsoft announced that they’re going to make the first preview of Visual Studio 2022 available to developers who would like to try out the new features of it. One of the striking features of this version of Visual Studio is that it will be 64-bit for the first time.

However, not all the features that’s coming to the final version of Visual Studio are available in this preview, because, according to Microsoft, it focuses on making most features of Visual Studio 64-bit. It means that with this version of Visual Studio, you can finally work on it for a very long time or open big solutions (solutions with 1000 or more projects).

You can install VS2022 previews side-by-side with your existing copies of Visual Studio, like VS2019. It comes with three editions (Community, Professional, Enterprise) just like VS2019. All the previews are free to use.

It also ships with .NET 6.0, which will be released on November this year, together with the .NET MAUI framework. IntelliCode is also improved so it can complete larger chunks of code; it can finish a whole line.

Please note that this preview of VS2022 comes with English language only.

Stay safe and enjoy.
