The Ubuntu Nautilus bug that occurred when you try to restore files from the trash bin to a destination that already has the same file is being fixed according to the latest activities in this bug report.
It was initially reported in 2019, and it was initially occurred in the now-EOL Ubuntu 19.10 Eoan Ermine. However, it seems that it has also occurred in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Focal Fossa. Users were already suffering from this problem.
In Q3 2020, it has been fixed in the GNOME bug tracker, and the patch for the commit was already generated. Because of this, we’ve decided to inform the developers about this patch so they can fix it for Ubuntu as well.
We’ve downloaded the patch diff, renamed the extension to .patch, and uploaded it to Launchpad. After 2 hours, we’ve received an e-mail saying that they are currently working on it.
When it’s fixed, we will update you with instructions on how to update your packages to the latest version. We’ll see you in the next post.
